Hello Everybody, wrapping up my stay in Rome enjoy these last shots!
Who doesn’t like a genuine panini with prosciutto bacon, ouza ham and all the fixings toasted to perfection
This was outside St. Peters Basilica and the throngs of people waiting to go to mass was astounding, it was so busy
Outside of the Castle of Saint Angelo, pretty dark dreary place btw.
Nothing says Rome like some amazing ruins.
I guess there was a stage of the Toure de France going on, didn’t see Lance Armstrong or any other bikers for that matter
A lot of roads were closed off as well.

Exterior of the Pantheon, Rome’s best preserved ancient structure.
A shot of the dome inside the pantheon, the oculis in the center is the only light source it has, and when it rains it rains inside and actually drains into an irrigation source.
In the early 600’s that’s right 600’s., The pantheon was converted into a Catholic church, and the church was highly instrumental in keeping the pantheon so well maintained.
Now on to the Vatican Museums, here’s a some clay angel statues, beautiful yet slightly morbid

Some canopic jars, these were used to hold the deceased’s organs after removal for mummification.
Quite possibly the world’s biggest birdbath or something along those
lines.
The one and only Sistine Chapel panel of God crating Adam, such an iconic and well known painting or fresco to be more specific.
How about this for some horological complications!!!
Now come on I’m not gonna do a travel report on Italy and not show you guy’s what pizza is supposed to look like!

g340 on shared on a few other forums his experience of removing his GMT-C watch at an airport security screening, only to find the ceramic bezel fell out. Fortunately, he found the insert, but could not press it back into the bezel ring (like one can with the older aluminum 16710 inserts).
g340 indicated that he is going to take his watch to the RSC in New York and will post a follow up.
These photos re-posted and touched up on g340’s behalf and with permission.

Also, here is a simple schematic of how it is supposed to all fit. There are obviously differences in the diagram which seems conceptual rather than precise.
